What do you get when you have 5 individuals who understand what its like to be on the end of prejudice and abuse for characteristics they cannot control, stick them in a room with a drum kit, guitars and microphone? 

'Raucous', 'Relentless', 'freedom of expression' and the chance to tell a story, in the hope we can all learn to become vessels of support for friends, family and neighbors in crisis.

'Secrets' is just that. It is a hand on the shoulder of anyone who’s ever felt unseen, unheard or unworthy. It’s the sound of vulnerability being weaponized into strength; the breaking point and the breakthrough. If it gives even one person the courage to speak, leave, scream, cry, or fight back — then every note was worth it.​​

Jamie - Vocalist - says:

Before i start, i would like to emphasize if you are going through an abusive or manipulative situation, or if you know someone who is going through something like this, Please be that person to listen, offer support, and get them the help they need.

​For us, it was about bringing further substance to the visual aspects.

We knew that the idea of a faceless entity such as Bagman has resonated with people on our previous releases, and to leave him behind wouldn't have been right for the message that we carry - Anxiety can flare up in many ways, and sometimes that can branch to some abhorrent and intolerable behavior's.

With the introduction of Bandageman - we wanted to have a visual representation of the strength and courage people must find when in such a horrible situation.

​Some people say they have gone through some of the worst situations, and felt a presence or spirit, angel or god, whatever you want to call it; that guided them through.

I'm not a believer in such things, but I do believe that people can find that inner strength, and I think that's what the character of Bandage-man is to me.

Damon adds:

We have looked to capture the drive and general feeling of the music, in a more specific literal sense of what the characters are going through. But also add a fairy tale dream like ambience with the bagman and bandageman characters, so it can be viewed, to me at least, as a showing of the essence of lifes all encompassing struggle between good and evil.

This record is for the unheard, the underestimated, the ones who were told to stay soft and stay silent. Secrets is proof that your voice matters — even when someone tried to take it from you. It is vulnerability sharpened into defiance; healing that isn't linear, but real. If these songs help even one person find the courage to stand up, step out, or simply breathe again — then every scream, every lyric, every sleepless night we poured into this was worth it.

This is Second Cities. This is Secrets. And this is us refusing to be quiet about the things that break us — and the strength it takes to rebuild.
